Greta Thunberg Deported from Israel After Gaza Aid Mission

Jerusalem (June 10, 2025) – Climate activist Greta Thunberg has been deported from Israel after joining the Freedom Flotilla in an attempt to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The aid ship Madleen, carrying food, baby formula, and medicine, was intercepted by the Israeli navy. Greta, along with three other activists, agreed to deportation and returned to Sweden via France. Eight others remain in detention after refusing to leave voluntarily.

Greta described the incident as an “illegal arrest” and said her detention was minor compared to the suffering in Gaza. She called for open humanitarian corridors and an end to the occupation.

Israeli authorities defended the action, calling it a media stunt and stating that aid will be delivered through official channels.
