Paulding County, GA – A devastating road rage incident on Monday afternoon has left a Georgia family shattered after 39-year-old Shawn Brannon, a devoted father of three, was fatally shot. The incident remains under investigation by local authorities, who have yet to release full details on what led to the confrontation.
Despite his injuries, Brannon managed to drive himself to a nearby fire station seeking help. First responders rushed him to the hospital, but tragically, he did not survive.
Shawn leaves behind three children—James (16), a trombone player in his high school’s marching band; Noah (13); and Maya (8), both of whom love basketball and swimming. Their mother, Katie, is now faced with the overwhelming challenge of raising her children alone while dealing with unexpected funeral costs. Katie is a full-time student and works in pediatrics. She shared that Shawn didn’t have life insurance and that she never expected to be in this position.
“He was a present, loving dad,” Katie said. “He was proud of them, always cheering them on.”
Now, the family is calling on the community for support—whether in the form of prayers, kind messages, or financial help to cover funeral expenses and basic needs. Katie hopes that the love and compassion of others will help carry her family through the darkest time of their lives.
For those who wish to support the Brannon family, donations and messages of support can make a lasting
