American R&B star Chris Brown made a composed and confident appearance at Southwark Crown Court this morning as he faced serious criminal charges stemming from an alleged assault incident at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, London, back in February 2023.
The 36-year-old singer arrived dressed in a sharp grey suit, accompanied by his legal team, and pleaded not guilty to the charge of "intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH)" against music producer Abraham Diaw. The prosecution claims that Brown struck Diaw with a tequila bottle and continued to punch and kick him while he lay unconscious on the club floor.
The alleged assault, which reportedly had no provocation, was captured on CCTV footage. Diaw claims he suffered head lacerations, torn neck ligaments, and lasting psychological trauma. In today’s hearing, Brown entered a plea of not guilty to the most serious charge of GBH.
